Looking for some suggestions on setting up a tow rig. We are planning on using the Tahoe to pull the bronco on a car trailer, and I don't want to destroy the Tahoe in the process, because I will never here the end of it from the wife. I am planning on setting it up with airbags, and a brake controller. Is there anything else that I need to do to it?

Maybe a extra trany cooler. Other than that it sounds good.

Thanks Cowboy, That's what I was thinking. But I guess the wife has changed her mind to what truck we are going to be using for the tow rig. I just need to get a new reciever for my F-250 since I ripped the other one off last winter pulling a bus out of ditch.

An F250 will make a much better tow rig anyway. I think you will be much happier with the handling characteristics while loaded.


Hopefully once you get the new receiver, you won't be yanking anymore buses out of the ditch!!

Having recently went from 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton truck to tow my Jeep with that earlier statement couldn't be more spot on.  Aside from the diesel having a much easier time pulling the trailer the sheer weight of the tow rig helps keep it tracking straight down the road.  My 1/2 ton would get blown around a bit on the highway on a windy day, the 3/4 ton stays put and pushes through it with ease.

the longer the tow rig the better it tows. Weight is a great help.

And our F250 is nothing if not long! An extended cab with a long bed yea that's a big truck!
